Aaron Decker School Peanut Free Procedures
Aaron Decker Peanut Free Procedures
At Aaron Decker School all classrooms are peanut and tree nut free:
We have many students that have severe food allergies, particularly to peanuts. We are requiring all classrooms be “peanut free” to eliminate the life-threatening situations that can arise from exposure to peanuts or products that have come in contact with them. When sending in snack and/or lunch please be aware of this and read all packages carefully.
***Daily snack in the classroom needs to be peanut/treenut free and should always be a healthy snack. Lunch boxes should not contain peanuts or any peanut products if your child is opening it for snack. All snacks must have a label, listing the ingredients, to assure safety for all. Peanut butter sandwiches will still be available for purchase in the cafeteria. In addition, “Lunchables” often contain candy for dessert. These should not be sent to school as students may not eat candy in school.
***As always, there are peanut free tables at lunch time. Any student may sit at the table along with his or her friend providing they all have a peanut free lunch. This will be monitored by the teachers and aides. All staff will be trained by our nurse, Mrs. Walzer.
***These procedures will be strictly adhered to. We know we can count on all of our families to help make this a positive experience for everyone! If you have any questions please contact us and we will be happy to help.
