Veterans Day “Island of Thanks” at ADS
This year, Aaron Decker School students and staff honored one of Butler’s own on Veteran’s Day. Collin Congleton, former Butler student, came to speak to the ADS students about what it means to be a veteran. He served in the US Marines for several years and is now a Jersey City Police officer. Collin answered many questions from students and helped them to understand what it means to respect and honor those who have served. ADS students and staff saluted the flag and the entire school joined in singing the Star Spangled Banner and You’re a Grand Old Flag.
You will see the list of Veterans represented by the Island of Thanks at the link below. Thanks to all who helped to make this possible. A very generous donation will be made to the local veteran’s association on behalf of the students, staff and families of ADS.

Thank you to all Veterans past and present!
