Mind and Body

To do well in school, you have to take care of yourself mentally and physically.  Talk to your school counselor or another trusted adult if you are having trouble, feel stressed or unsafe.  Make sure you:

 


-Get plenty of sleep each night

-Eat a healthy diet

-Have healthy ways to reduce stress

-Take part in fun, healthy activities.

 
 
 

Dealing with stress:
A little stress is ok, but too much stress prevents us from doing and feeling our best.  When you feel stressed, try different relaxation techniques.
-Take a deep breath.  Then slowly release
-Starting at your head, work your way down to your feet, flexing and then relaxing each muscle.
-Think of a place where you feel relaxed and calm.  Close your eyes and imagine yourself there.
