AP Exams

AP courses are an important step in college readiness.  They ensure that students are ready for undergraduate level work.  They provide college admissions counselors with a consistent measure of course rigor across high schools.  They help students stand out from other students. Furthermore, by scoring successfully on an AP exam, students can earn college credit that will save them money down the road.  (Search specific college’s guidelines on accepting AP course credit here).  In addition, students can place out of introductory classes and go right to smaller, upper-level courses.  Taking AP courses, even if not within your major, can help you place out of general education requirements so that you can focus on what interests you.  Clearly, there are many benefits to enrolling in AP courses and taking the AP exams!
