Culture and Climate Committe #BHSYouAutoKnow

The Butler High School  of New Jersey (BIANJ), the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, the New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company, and the All State Foundation implemented a campaign to bring awareness to distracted driving. The campaign focuses on what students should and shouldn’t be doing in the car. With the #BHSYouAutoKnow students are posting pictures demonstrating how they are eliminating driving distractions. The campaign kicked off on February 24th and students became immediately involved to try and win a car themed prize pack.  The pack included donations from local businesses in Bloomingdale: Quick Check and Rudge Towing & Recovery; Butler: Dakota’s Auto Garage, and Kinnelon: Route 23 Carwash and Valvoline Instant Oil Change. The competition will run for four weeks and four winners will be chosen based off of uniqueness and creativity. To further raise awareness we will be hosting a car wash in April which will be open to all members of the community. At the wash we will ask participants to sign a pledge promising to eliminate driving distractions. Updates regarding the campaign will be posted.
