Guagliardi Receives Honor

Congratulations to Nick Guagliardi for being selected as Butler High School’s Outstanding Scholar Athlete.  Nick was honored along with other recipients chosen throughout Morris, Sussex, and Warren Counties.  The ceremony was held at the Madison Hotel in Morristown, NJ, on March 14, 2016.

Nick started playing football for the Butler Junior Bulldogs when he was 5 years old.   During a scrimmage at the beginning of  7th grade, Guagliardi sustained a broken collar bone and missed the entire season.   He returned the next season  determined to overcome his injury, and helped his team to reach the second round of the playoffs.  Guagliardi has been part of the Butler High School varsity team since his sophomore year, and was team captain as a senior.

In his junior year, in the fall of 2015, Nick was recognized by the College Board as an AP Scholar.  Students who earn this distinguished honor must earn a score of three or better on three or more AP tests during their high school career.  This year Nick serves as the BHS Student Council President.

Nick had many college acceptances, including a chance to play football at RPI, but decided to stay local and attend the County College of Morris.
