RED RIBBON WEEK ACTIVITIES – 2017

Red Ribbon Week commemorates Enrique (KiKi) Camarena, an Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, who was killed battling the war on drugs.

Monday Oct 23 –                                                                                                                                 Homerooms 10, 13, 100, 106, 107, 108, 109, 208, 211A, 211B, 213 will place their pinwheels on the lawn in awareness of the 5000 youths who die annually from underage drinking.  Alcohol is a drug.                                                                                                                                                                      

Drug Prevention Presentation in periods 1 – 4 PE and Health classes.                      Let’s white out drug addiction – Wear a white bandana to support a drug free BHS.

Tuesday Oct 24 –                                                                                                          Homerooms 302, 304, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, 311, 312, 313 will place their pinwheels on the lawn in awareness of the 5000 youths who die annually from underage drinking.  Alcohol is a drug.                                                                                                                                                                               

Drug Prevention Presentation in periods 5, 6, 8, and 9 in PE and Health classes.                                                                                                                                    

Wednesday Oct 25 –                                                                                                      Homerooms 328, 333, 336, 337, 338, 339, Gym A, B will place their pinwheels on the lawn in awareness of the 5000 youths who die annually from underage drinking.  Alcohol is a drug.  Drug prevention and treatment centers will be providing information to students during lunch periods.  Information tables will be set up in the cafeteria. 

  Tip your hat in respect to all those people who are in substance abuse recovery – Wear your favorite hat.

Thursday Oct 26 –                                                                                                          Homerooms will receive discussion topics pertaining to the legal consequences of substance abuse.                                                                                                          Wear blue jeans in support of all law enforcement who risk their lives protecting us from the dangers of illegal drug activity.

Friday Oct 27 –

Red Ribbon Week Assembly – Period 8A freshman and sophomore, Period 8B senior and junior in the auditorium.                                                                            Wear red to pay respect to KiKi Camarena and all our DEA Agents.
