Mission Statement

The home and school have a shared responsibility in the formation and development of the character of each individual.  Recognizing our role in fulfilling this responsibility, Butler School District established as its primary purpose the intellectual development of each pupil to the maximum of his/her abilities.  The school’s program for “intellectual development” encompasses instruction in basic skills and knowledge and the utilization of these skills in the development of critical thinking and the ability to exercise the power of judgment.  Having developed these skills, each pupil will be prepared to accept his/her responsibilities as a participating member of our democratic society, will be able to exercise flexibility in adapting to rapid changes in the modem world, and will be prepared to engage in a process of continuous self-education.

It is the expectation of this school district that all pupils achieve the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at all grade levels.
